The UPMC 5-Tool Trainer is the future of America's pastime.
Inspired by the "Five-Tool Player" evaluation system used by baseball scouts, the UPMC 5-Tool Trainer is an innovative way for young baseball players to improve and track their performance in five specific areas, while taking the right steps to stay healthy. This free, first-of-its-kind product uses UPMC Sports Medicine expertise to educate players, coaches, and parents, prevent injuries, improve performance, and analyze stats.

Track runs, hits, walks, strikeouts, pitches thrown, and batting average. The app also reminds coaches and players when the player is nearing a recommended rest period based on pitch count and innings pitched. Offers video-based warm-ups and workouts focused on improving power, batting average, speed, fielding, and throwing.

Explains injuries common to baseball and equips players and coaches with the right knowledge to stay in the game.
